Pre-installation Preparation
Before you begin, proper preparation and maintenance are crucial. It's highly recommended to clean the surface of the carbon fiber products using soap and water or a car paint cleaner. For best results, consider compounding and waxing the surface as well.
1. To install the spoiler center bracket, turn the main spoiler upside down and attach the bracket to it.
Once the center bracket is attached, use a long Phillips head screwdriver to hand-tighten the screws through the holes into the main spoiler. Be careful not to overtighten them, as this can damage the parts.

2. Installed the Spoiler Side Plates: Install the side plates one at a time, making sure to align each plate with the correct side of the main spoiler.
Use three screws to tighten the side plate to the main spoiler after you've aligned it.
Repeat the same steps for the opposite side.
3. Install the Spoiler Side Bracket: Install the side brackets one at a time. Align each bracket with the corresponding bottom side of the side plate.
Hand-tighten the three screws and make any necessary adjustments. Be careful not to overtighten them, as this could cause damage.
4. Install the trim covers
5. Install the Gurney Flap
Now that you're finished, it's a good idea to perform a final check to make sure everything is secure and looks perfect. A few things to consider:
-
Double-Check Fasteners: Go back over all the screws and bolts you installed. Make sure they are all hand-tight and secure, but remember not to overtighten them, as this can cause damage.
-
Inspect the Fit: Take a step back and look at the spoiler from a few different angles. Is it sitting flush and evenly on the trunk?
-
Clean Up: Give the new spoiler and the surrounding area on your car a quick wipe down to remove any fingerprints or smudges from the installation.
Enjoy the new look of your Mustang!
